Matuidi warns Barcelona: PSG are coming for you

The midfielder is in good spirits after Zlatan Ibrahimovic inspired Laurent Blanc's men to a Coupe de la Ligue final win over Bastia
Blaise Matuidi fired a warning to Barcelona that Coupe de la Ligue winners Paris Saint-Germain are ready for Wednesday's Champions League battle.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who is out of the first leg of the quarter-final against his former club, opened the scoring against Bastia and added a second in the first half before Edinson Cavani bagged a late double to seal a 4-0 triumph at the Stade de France.

With Barcelona having been held to a 2-2 draw by Sevilla an hour earlier, Matuidi hopes PSG's first major trophy of 2014-15 can inspire them to their second victory over the Catalans this season.
"It's true that, right now, everything is good for PSG," the central midfielder told France 2. "We played to win and we played a very good match.

"Bastia were a man down for much of the match, but we have done the right thing. This is our first big trophy this season. Now we have to try to get a second and maybe a third.

"And it was important to win for the confidence so we can beat Barca."

As well as revelling in Laurent Blanc's men taking the first trophy in what fans hope will be a quadruple, PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi expressed his relief that there were no additional injuries.

"This is hopefully just the first title for us," he said. "We are delighted. We're happy because there were no injuries today, too. We are ready for Barca."

PSG defeated Luis Enrique's side earlier this season at Parc des Princes in the Champions League group stage and they will be hoping history can repeat itself despite missing talisman Ibrahimovic through suspension.
