Leicester secure survival as Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard says goodbye to Anfield

Leicester secured Premier League survival while Newcastle and Hull are defeated at QPR and Tottenham respectively.

With Hull losing at Spurs and Newcastle lgoing down at QPR, Nigel Pearson's Leicester needed just a stalemate on Wearside to complete a remarkable surge to safety.
Already-relegated QPR said goodbye to their home fans for the season by coming from behind to edge struggling Newcastle 2-1 at Loftus Road - leaving John Carver's side without a win in their last 10 league games.
Emmanuel Riviere fired the visitors ahead before the halfway mark but Matt Philips and Leroy Fer struck either side of the hour mark to secure Chris Ramsey's side victory.

Hull remain in the relegation zone after suffering a 2-0 defeat to Tottenham at White Hart Lane.
Nacer Chadli and Danny Rose were the men on target for Mauricio Pochettino's side - scoring in the 54th and 61st minutes respectively after a dour first half.
Burnley, who will definitely be playing Championship football next term, fought out a goalless draw with Stoke at Turf Moor, who gave Sean Dyche's men a standing ovation after a valiant bid for a second season in the top flight.

Everton leap-frogged their hosts West Ham with a 2-1 victory at Upton Park despite falling behind to a Stewart Downing goal on the hour-mark.
Roberto Martinez's side were quick to respond and Leon Osman restored parity with an assured finish before Romelu Lukaku pounced in injury time to snatch all three points.

Earlier in the day, Southampton striker Sadio Mane made history against Aston Villa at St Mary's as he rattled in the fastest hat-trick in Premier League history - netting in the 12th, 13th and 16th minutes to eclipse Robbie Fowler's record.
Shane Long struck also twice before the break and although Christian Benteke pulled one back, Graziano Pelle rounded off the scoring in the second period to add gloss for Ronald Koeman's side
