The striker grabbed an assist as the capital city team defeated Terek Grozny 3-0 to claim their first championship title since 2001 and their 22nd win
Cape Verde striker Ze Luis lifted the Russian Professional Football League title with Spartak Moscow on Wednesday following a 3-0 win against Terek Grozny in their last home game of the season.
The Afro-haired forward grabbed an assist for teammate Denis Glushakov in the 19th minute as the Russian scored his second of the night, four minutes after opening the scoring.
Dutch forward Quincy Promes added the third goal late in the second half as Spartak went on to lift their first title since 2001 and a record 22nd title.
They overthrew city rivals CSKA Moscow who had won thrice in the last four seasons. Second-placed CSKA are 10 points behind the leaders going into the last weekend of the season.
Ze Luis, poached from Portuguese side Sporting Braga two years ago, has scored five goals this season and contributed six assists.
The 26-year-old Cape Verde international has scored three goals in four appearances for the Blue Sharks. He will be a part of the squad that will play against Uganda when they begin the qualifiers for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in June.
Cape Verde are in the same 2018 World Cup qualifying group with South Africa, Senegal and Burkina Faso
